Horizon Pines is a glamping and camping site in Kobayat, Akkar, Lebanon. This page explains what personal information we collect when you contact us or use this website, what we do with it, and how long we keep it.

What we collect

When you message us on WhatsApp

We use the WhatsApp Business Platform to receive and answer guest enquiries. When you message us, we store:

• your WhatsApp phone number and the profile name you have set on WhatsApp;
• the content of the messages you send us and our replies;
• any photos, voice notes, documents or other files you send;
• delivery information such as whether a message was sent, delivered or read.

We store these so that our team can answer you, keep track of your booking, and refer back to what was agreed. Only authorised Horizon Pines staff can see them.

WhatsApp is operated by Meta, and messages pass through Meta's systems on their way to us. Meta's own handling of your data is governed by the WhatsApp Privacy Policy.

When you enquire or book

If you contact us by phone, email or the booking form, we keep the details you give us — such as your name, contact details, dates, number of guests and any requests — so we can arrange your stay.

When you browse this website

We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used, such as which pages are visited and roughly where visitors come from. This is used in aggregate to improve the site. We do not use it to identify you personally.

What we do not do

• We do not sell your personal information.
• We do not share it with advertisers.
• We do not send marketing messages to people who have only enquired, unless you have asked us to.

How long we keep it

WhatsApp conversations, including any photos and voice notes, are kept for 24 months from the date of the message, and are then deleted automatically. We chose 24 months so that we can still recognise returning guests and refer back to previous stays across seasons, without holding your messages indefinitely.

Booking records may be kept longer where we need them for accounting purposes.

Your choices

You can ask us to show you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. Email contact@horizonpines.com and we will respond as quickly as we reasonably can.

If you ask us to delete your messages, we will remove them from our inbox. Please note that a copy may remain in your own WhatsApp app, and that deletion from Meta's systems is governed by their policy rather than ours.

How we protect it

Our WhatsApp inbox is on a private server, reachable only by named Horizon Pines staff who must sign in first. Messages and files are stored where the public website cannot reach them, and backups are encrypted.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page.
