Work Out What You Actually Need First

A quick disclosure before anything else: we run Horizon Pines, a glamping and camping site in Kobayat, Akkar. So treat this as an operator explaining what to compare, not a neutral ranking of the country. We have set out the questions we get asked most, and answered them for our own site with real numbers so you have at least one concrete reference point. In our experience most bookings that disappoint are a mismatch rather than a bad site. Before comparing anywhere, settle four things: how many people are sleeping, whether you need a private bathroom, whether you want to cook, and what you are willing to carry. Those four answers narrow the field faster than any photo gallery.

Two different formats at the same site: inside a Lotus Belle tent, and inside and outside a Premium Yurt.

The Comparisons That Actually Matter

Sleeping space and capacity. Ask how many adults a unit really sleeps, not how many bodies fit. Our Lotus Belle tents sleep three adults, or four when the fourth guest is a child under ten. Our yurts sleep four adults, or up to six when two of the guests are children. Bathrooms. This is the single biggest comfort variable. Ask whether the bathroom is private or shared, and whether there is hot water. Our yurts have a private bathroom inside; each Lotus Belle tent has a private bathroom next door with a toilet, hot shower and sink. Cooking. Ask what is provided and what you are expected to bring. Our yurts include a kitchenette; the wider site has fire pits and BBQ areas. Season and setting. Elevation changes the trip completely. Kobayat sits at roughly 1,100 metres, which is why summer nights here are cooler than on the coast. If you are escaping summer heat, altitude matters more than the decor. Total cost, not headline cost. Add the nights, the number of units you need, fuel, and food. A cheaper unit that sleeps fewer people is not always cheaper.

Which of Our Options Fits Which Trip

Rather than rank sites we do not operate, here is where each of ours fits. Lotus Belle tents are $60 per tent, per night. Suitable when you are a couple or a small family wanting a furnished, boutique-style tent with a private porch and its own private bathroom next door, rather than inside. Yurts are $120 per night, or $150 for a single night. Suitable when you want a solid structure, a bathroom inside and a kitchenette, or room for more people. Family camping is $10 per guest with your own tent, or $15 with a tent and mattress provided, for 2–6 people. Suitable when you want the lowest cost and like pitching your own camp. Group and scout camping takes 20–120 people, from $10 per guest per night. Suitable for schools, scouts and large gatherings. All four are open. Those are our nightly rates; if you want a total for your dates and party size, message us and we will work it out with you. Whatever you compare us against, ask that site the same questions above and the right choice usually becomes obvious.
